Life is so drama

Past five days and five nights~

I had durian, dim sum, bak kut teh
I went to pasar malam, and cycling in Bukit Cahaya
I attended parties, for business and leisure, two nights in a row.

I got home Sunday morning 2am.
My new house got a set of new doors, cool~
Mom forgot that I have been away for five days and don't have the keys~
My phone ran out of battery.

The door bell!
Nobody answered after ding dong for 15 minutes.
They probably never heard of it.

Did they lock my room's balcony door?
Should I climb up?
I think I can do it.
FHM Jantan Test would like to hear about this.
Better not.

Public phone!
There is one near 7-Eleven.
Thank god it is still working.
A glimmer of hope for Malaysian vandals.

Got in.
It's already 3am.
Drama nye~

Dark Knight is good.
So is Red Cliff,Hell Boy 2 & Journey to the Centre of the Earth,
I have paid my dues.

Sweaty, muddy and Skol-ly Saturday

2.30pm
I’ve arrived at Batu Caves with a book, my laptop, and 24 bottles of beers in my car boot.
The sight of the steps reminded me a trip ykit, yh and swei made last year (or 2 years ago?) which I did not tag along, probably due to work reason.
The rendezvous time with Joyce and Irene is 3.30pm. I am one hour earlier, gee...

3.00pm
Drinking fresh coconut juice, panting, and knee trembling.
Short moment ago, a sudden urge prompted me to climb the steps. And I did it.
I went up, said hi to the monkeys, toured the cave, rescued an Indian boy’s water bottle, and came down with wisdom +1
The cave is quite a sight filled with monkeys' and doves' poop :P
But I like.

3.30pm
Joyce and Irene arrived, I’m ready for the adventure to Ulu Yam.

4.15pm
Oh my god~ The scenery during my 45 minutes drive was awesome, curvy hillside roads, pouring rains… and a huge lake that appeared out of nowhere. Glad that I agreed to help out in this event.

5.00pm
Work starts! Set up the media registration counter, sorted out the press kits and gifts (the beers in my boot), read the agenda and memorise the key messages and VIPs name. Oh, did I not mention? It’s the super Skol Launch (Super because it’s 9% alcohol content, normal beer is 4%)

6.00pm
Media came. Not too happy (so far la, raining la, it’s Saturday la, ulu place la) :P

7.00pm
4X4 trucks ferried media into event site.

8.00pm
Waiting for late comers. So going to miss the launch.

8.30pm
Went in with the last batch of media. Woo.. My first time sitting in a Mitsubishi Triton, nice~ The makeshift road was a combo of tar and mud, but Triton handled it with ease, no problem at all, suspension super man!

8.45pm
We missed the launch. But that’s not important :P
The event site is… muddy. The band is… weirdly entertaining. The media are… looking at me with disbelief, telepathically telling me WTF is this!?

Seet respond to all: Ha ha… erm… outdoor mar, sporty mar, rough and tough mar, u know la, Super Skol so super, 4X4 also so super… OH YA have you tried it? Come, come have some!

Run away~

10.00pm
Leaving with the same group of media who came late just now. I think I have made a few friends in sharing common disbelief of how the event is done tonight. I was so hungry, I became the one to clear the dishes, a rare sight ler~

12.00am
Reached home. Munthye came to borrow basketball. SiauHui bro came to borrow jacket. Realised I have not tried Super Skol…

My job rocks.

I’m now blogging in Starbucks while waiting for my class to start.
50% of the stuff are moved to the new house, which until now I have not seen it.
I guess I quite fail.

Studying part time is really taking a toll on me now.
As I got involved in more high demand accounts, I find myself struggling to keep my life in balance.
I made many mistakes at work, mostly due to carelessness, and I disappointed people.

Anyway,

I’ve updated the MINI review with pix, enjoy~

noob car review

Last week on Monday night, I was given the opportunity to drive the MINI Clubman Cooper S (the not so cute, but still damn cute MINI) for four days four nights. Yes, four days and four nights!!

After sleepless nights of car testing including city cruising, highway mad rush, max speed attempt and 0 to 100 km/h experiment, I decided to attempt a noob review of the car~

The first few seconds when I laid my hands on the steering wheel, I was amazed by the classic looking speedometer that smack right in the centre of the dashboard, open roof, and the customisable interior lights. They are so adorable, so chic, so metro, so individual!

My first night drive with the car was from Cyberjaya to Puchong, and later back to Klang using the KESAS highway. Ahh, I went to Puchong to see Samantha’s eldest sister baby, and also to catch up with Samantha :)

The club door! Yep, the USP of MINI Clubman was handy when I fetched Samantha and her younger sister. But the doors, they are freaking heavy… Samantha was the first to say so, I told her its your skinny hands, but later when I have less adrenaline in my system, I couldn‘t agree more.

Useful when washing the car too :P

While on the road, I experimented with every dials and switches available! Sports, DSC, headlights, spot lights, open roof, interior lights, font/ rear wipers, side windows, side mirrors… It felt like a first date, when everything about your companion is so damn interesting, even the most miniscule and useless stuff.

Second night, I grabbed a few friends along and we took a long, straight stretch from Kapar to Sasaran (in case you are wondering, Kapar is in Klang and Sasaran is in Kuala Selangor) to TRY to floor the pedal, the turbo boost, and to take corners in high speed. We broke the speed limit, most of the time :P But we were still no where near the max speed.

damn cool to stick your head out, siauhui did that

Third night was drive from Cheras to Mont’ Kiara and dinner in Bangsar. I learnt the word electronic magnetic lock, or something like that… showed Wendy the good for roadshow/ picnic split door (the reason why it doesn‘t look as cute as the old MINIs), and the air conditioning is non existence for back seat passenger :(

the split door

Forth night, yes… it was the night I learnt that the car can go manual, that the car can go 0 to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds, that the max speed is 219km/h, that I can cruise in a constant speed, without stepping on the pedal! and there is a hidden key in the key (no typo here, you read it right)!

But the wind noise is loud and the car is not heavy enough to handle the speed it can go. You see, the original MINI wasn’t supposed to go this fast…

Important lesson here, To drive a MINI, is to realise- life is not about dashing and zooming and overtaking, it's about doing them in style... keep that in mind.

Parting with MINI on Friday morning wasn’t easy. It might be another 20-30 years before I can drive/ own one again. But even by then, would I still be as passionate of it? MINI is a car for the young, as soon as you can justify why it is not worth it, you are not young anymore (you are wise :P) . Young punks don’t justify, we just do it!

My conclusion for MINI- it is a toy car, a car that is fun to drive around. I have to be honest here. four days commuting to work in a MINI does make me felt elevated in some way.

MINI also remains a selfish car for two, but this time it does try to be generous by adding in the Club door that receive mixed responses.

Oh ya, I also couldn’t figure out how to open the bonnet.
