Christmas

Christmas came and gone. I'm back to my desk after an 11 day break, showing signs of post holiday syndrome, but is entirely happy and satisfied with how I end this year.

Friends asked me where I went during this break? I said no where, just bumming.

Well that is not exactly true. Firstly, I went to Ipoh for an one day eating trip. Then, I visited the cinema no less than six times, met up with the theater gang in FullHouse, familiarised myself with the HD TV in my living room (Dark Knight is awesome in HD), and went to Noel's new place for a Christmas-cum-secondary school reunion house party.

Ah, and also the FH-Paprika Christmas party where everyone got their ass kicked in pool (billiard) by Anjali. She is good.

But of course, Jess and I also celebrated our first Christmas Eve together. We went to Michelangelo for drinks and appetizers, then Wendy's for burgers.

Why?

Because the kitchen crew in Michelangelo was unable to serve our order after nearly two hours. Normally heads will roll for this sort of service, yet, it was Christmas Eve, so we just paid for what we had and left to watch Chipmunks 2.

Dontchu just love Christmas?

Closing the book

Can you believe this? 2009 just zoomed past us, and here we are, 10 more days before Christmas. It feels like yesterday when the then triplet (now quadruplet) told each other "2009 is all about Efficient Dynamics", don't you think?

There were a handful of joyous occasions, and a few sad ones. If I am to sum it all up, I will remember 2009 as the year when I became MINI Master (I got a cert for this okay), promoted to SAE, went to Taipei, traveled with MAS to Sandakan, done drive events in Kuching + K.Terengganu, BMW Shorties 2009, and the new HD-Ready TV in my living room rocks.

Of course, I also found you. The one with many nicknames- talk back machine, DDSD, and now Rudolph. Here's to another year of sweet and exciting journey.

2009 is also the year we decided to walk out from a six years (or is it seven?) client-agency relationship. To the account that made me who I am today, I bid you farewell. Although I will miss you dearly, I'm also certain that this separation will do us good.

So it is official, no more BMW Quadruplets. Meet the Astro Boys.

Twinkies & Twiggies

Ownership

THE event is next week. It will be my last. Sigh. But as they say, if the decision makes you feel relieved, then it is the right one.

Ok, something entirely different, since I was having this conversation, here's a good tip to enjoy your work- ownership.

I know. It is quite common sense, but not many of us remember that greater level of involvement brings greater level of job satisfaction. Especially for those who manages downward, if you want to make people who work for you happy, you must involve them, give them more ownership and eventually let go.

I must say I'm very lucky and am very grateful. So if I become an authoritarian in exchange for efficiency, please, point me back here. Thanks.

Myvi anyone?

NAP 2010 announced:

Gradual introduction of Vehicle End of Life Policy. For starters vehicles above 15 yrs will have to undergo mandatory inspection during renewal of road tax.

That means I have less than a year to get a new car. This is not good.

No More Bumming Sunday.

Yes. No more because work is piling up, I spent my entire Sunday working from home.

Despite that, I randomly rang up Siang Wei in Taipei and asked him if he would like to go pee. Our conversation over the phone was broken down to four parts because the phone line was so bad. Yet, it is good to know that we still greet each other the same twisted way.

But it wasn't just work no play. The night before Jess and I went to Akon's Beach Concert thanks to Joyce! Had some fun in the rock zone, even though my legs went numb after.

Nearing the end of the concert, a tree fell down and injured a few concert goers, one got her hand scratched, while the other was escorted out with her face covered in her own hands. O.O

On Friday night, we went to watch 500 Days of Summer. I liked it. My favourite part goes like this ( or at least how I remember it):

Boy: "You didn't want to get married. I don't understand, what happened?"
Girl: "I just know it"
Boy: "What is IT?"
Girl: "Things that I'm unsured of when I was with you".

Ouch. Anyway, the male lead reminded me of Tze.

Oh, good news.
* I'm promoted =)
